About the player
Simon Emil Spari's path to St. Pauli has run entirely through Austrian football. Born in Graz, the goalkeeper came up through the youth ranks at FC Gratkorn and SK Sturm Graz before a spell in Karlsruher SC's academy, returning to Austria in June 2021 to start his senior career with Floridsdorfer AC. Across three seasons in the Austrian 2. Liga he made 57 league appearances for FAC before moving on as a free transfer.
A switch to SK Austria Klagenfurt followed in August 2024, on a contract running to 2026. He made 27 league appearances there, though the club's spell in his hands ended in relegation. St. Pauli confirmed his move to the Bundesliga club on 19 June 2025, with reports pointing to a fee in the region of €200,000, having earlier been described as undisclosed.
Spari has also represented Austria at Under-21 level, collecting five caps between 2022 and 2024, though a senior call-up has not yet followed.
