Adelaide City

The Italian community of Adelaide put the club together in 1946. It carried a version of that name for three decades — Juventus, then Adelaide Juventus — before dropping it in 1977, the year the National Soccer League began. For four years from 2000 it played as Adelaide Force, then took the old name back.

Zoran Matić arrived as a player in 1977 and returned as manager in 1986.

Alex Tobin played 522 matches in the Australian domestic championship, 436 of them in black and white.

When the NSL folded in 2004, the club did not. In the modern Australia Cup it reached the quarter-finals in 2014 and the round of 16 in 2022.

Home is Adelaide City Park at Oakden, once known as Ram Park, which holds 5,500.

The state league title has come to the club 19 times.
