In 2000 and again in 2001, the volleyball section of a gymnastics club in Odense won the Danish championship and the Danish Women's Cup in the same season. The section was DHG Volley, part of DHG Gymnastik, which had been formed in 1969. The championship came four times in all: 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2004.

Those titles were won under a different name. In 2011, DHG Volley merged with VK Hjallese, and the new club took the name DHV Odense, short for Dalum Hjallese Volleyballklub. The name keeps both districts. DHV Odense has not won a title since the merger.

DHV Odense 2 Women is the second team of that merged club. It plays in 1. Division West, the second tier of Danish women's volleyball. The two clubs meet regularly.

Home games are played at Dalumhallen, on Mejerivej in the Dalum part of Odense.
