Viborg Women

Søndermarkens Idrætsklub, known as SIK, is a sports club that takes its name from Søndermarken, a part of Viborg. It dates from 1938, and volleyball is one of the sections that later grew up inside it. Anyone who knows Viborg through sport is more likely to think of Viborg HK and its handball. SIK Viborg Volleyball is a separate club with no connection to that side, and its women's team is usually called simply ViborgVolley.

The team plays in the 1. Division West, the second tier of Danish women's volleyball. Its home is Finderuphøj Hallen on Spættevej, one of the halls in the Viborg Syd Idrætscenter.

The 2024/25 season showed where the team stands in that division. It finished eighth of ten, with four wins and 12 defeats. The result of that kind describes a team that is competing for places in the table, not for promotion.

The club has not won a Danish championship or a cup, and it has not played in the Superligaen, the top division. The second tier is still as far up as it has climbed.
