Hiska Nacional

Aurora is the name that matters most on Hiska Nacional's fixture list, the club against which every meeting inside the Asociación de Fútbol de La Paz carries the weight of a derby. That rivalry has taken on new sharpness since 2025, when Hiska Nacional finally won something.

The club began among shoeshine boys working the Plaza Murillo, and the origin never left the name: "el equipo de los lustrabotas" still identifies it more readily than the formal title on the badge. Founded in 1918, it has outlasted most of its city and carries the honorary tag "el decano del fútbol paceño" for it, though the trophy cabinet stayed empty for that entire span until last year.

Luis Cristaldo took the team to a runner-up finish in 2023, then went one better in 2025, beating Deportivo FATIC 3-2 on the penultimate matchday to deliver the Primera A title the club had chased since 1918. 2025 is now the date fans attach to the club, more than any other.

Home games are played in Pura Pura, at the Cancha López Marruzzi, a ground that holds 2,000 — modest enough that the sky-blue and white colours, the source of the "Pasión Celeste" nickname, are visible from every seat. The club has also tested itself outside the local league, entering the Copa Simón Bolívar, Bolivia's national second-division competition, in 2021 and 2023.

Having broken through domestically, Hiska Nacional heads into its Copa Simón Bolívar campaign carrying a champion's shirt for the first time, with the Aurora fixture waiting to test whether last season's title changes anything between the two sides.
