Jaiyq

When Akzhayik folded in 2024, buried under debts it could not repay, Uralsk lost the club that had carried its name in one form or another for decades. The following year a new outfit rose on the same ground, calling itself Jaiyq.

That inheritance runs back to 1968, when a side called Uralets first took the field in the city. It became Naryn in 1997, Batys two years after that, then Akzhayik in 2004, the name it kept until the money ran out. Jaiyq now represents a city that has itself been renamed — Uralsk became Oral in 2022 — a change the club's history absorbed along with everything else it took on.

Home matches are played at the stadium named for Pyotr Atoyan, still known locally by the old club's name, with room for 8,320 in the stands. Among the results passed down through the club's various names, a runner-up finish in the Kazakhstan Cup in 2022 stands.

The team wears maroon and blue, and it is this pairing that gives supporters the nickname Red-Blues.
