Karlovarsko C

When Staré Město went down from the Czech top flight, its place in the league did not disappear with the club — a new side in Karlovy Vary picked it up, took the energy company ČEZ on as a sponsor within months, and carried the name Karlovarsko into a spa town that had never had a team at that level before. The first team built on that foundation quickly, winning the Czech Extraliga four times, in 2017, 2018, 2021 and 2022, and reaching the Czech Cup final on three further occasions without lifting it, losing once to Dukla Liberec and twice to Jihostroj České Budějovice.

It carries no honours of its own — its purpose is to feed players upward, not to collect trophies — and its matches draw far smaller crowds than the roughly 900 the Hala míčových sportů holds when the first team plays Dukla Liberec or Lvi Praha, the two rivals Karlovarsko measures itself against most often.

The blue and yellow shared across all three squads trace back to that 2014 sponsorship deal, and the shirt has been worn through the championship years by captain Daniel Pfeffer, who led the side through its run of Extraliga titles.
