«Malkia Strikers»
Ten times champions of Africa, and the run started almost as soon as the side existed: in 1991 the Malkia Strikers travelled to Cairo and won both the All-Africa Games and the Women's African Volleyball Championship in the same year. Titles followed in 1993, 1995 and 1997, then again from 2005 through 2015, and most recently in 2023 — four other finals, in 2003, 2017, 2019 and 2021, ended in silver.
The Kenya Volleyball Federation that runs the team dates back to 1962. Home matches are played at the Kasarani Indoor Arena in Nairobi, part of the Moi International Sports Centre.
Janet Wanja, named the championship's best setter in 2007, was one of the side's defining figures before her death in 2024.
