Lyseng

Three clubs in Aarhus had run out of reasons to stay separate. One of them, Skåde Boldklub, had been playing since 1922 on land belonging to a farmer named Valdemar Rasmussen. Another, in Kragelund, took its name in 1936. A third, in Holme, dated from 1952. They merged on 18 June 1970 and took the name of the sports park at Lyseng, where new pitches had gone in during 1955.

The merger cost them their old colours. Red and green went; orange came in, and the nickname followed — De orange ræve, the Orange Foxes. Dark maroon and pale blue fill out the kit.

Lyseng Stadion holds 1,000 and got an artificial surface in 2012, which in a Danish winter decides how much football actually gets played.

The high point arrived in 2017, when the club reached the 2nd Division, the third tier, for the first time. It lasted one season. Relegation in 2018 dropped them to the Denmark Series, the fifth tier, and the climb back has been slow — a return to the Denmark Series in 2026 after four years in the division below.

The cup has given them their best afternoon. Entering the DBU Pokalen from 2018/19 onwards, Lyseng reached the last 32 in 2025/26 and drew Vejle Boldklub, who put the tie to bed early and won 4-0.

The women's side plays a division higher in relative terms, in the 1st Division, the second tier of the Danish women's game. The men are in the 3rd Division, a level below where they were in 2017.

In more than 50 years since the merger, no trophy has come to Lysengvej — no title, no cup, and only that single season at the third tier to show for it.
