Gjorče Petrov Stadium holds 3,000, half of them seated. FK Makedonija Gjorče Petrov has worn several names on its way to this one — Lokomotiva, Rudar, Industrijalec, Jugokokta among them — before settling on its current identity in the 1989/90 season, while keeping 1932 as its founding year through all the changes.

The line back to that year was not unbroken. Relegation from the top flight in 2010 left the club without a place in the senior leagues, and for two seasons it existed only through MFK Treska, a third-tier side built to carry the name forward. In 2012 Treska took the Makedonija Gjorče Petrov name back, and with it the claim to the club's earlier history.

That history has its high points. The club won the Macedonian First League twice, in 1990/91 and 2008/09, and lifted the national cup three times. A run to the 2005/06 cup final produced its best-remembered forward: Filip Ivanovski scored 32 goals in 48 appearances that season, including the winner in the final, before moves to Poland and a spell at Vardar took him elsewhere. He later won a senior cap for Macedonia, scoring on his debut against Iceland.

Skopje gives the club no single fixed rival with a name of its own, the way Vardar and Shkupi have theirs. Matches against Rabotnički, Vardar, Shkupi and FK Skopje carry the weight of local occasions all the same, sharpened by the fact that eurocup football has come this way too — Intertoto Cup football in 1997/98, the UEFA Cup in 2006/07.

The club spent last season back in the Second League, won it, and returns to the top flight for 2025/26.
