Monza's most consistent silverware came in the Coppa Italia Serie C, lifted four times — in 1974, 1975, 1988 and 1991. The 1988 campaign also brought a Serie C1 title, the second following in 2006.

The club traces back to 1 September 1912, when Monza Foot-Ball Club formed out of a merger between Pro Italia and Pro Monza. A year later it absorbed Juventus FBC and took the name Associazione Calcio Monza. Under president Valentino Giambelli the club became Calcio Monza in 1980. Bankruptcy struck twice after that — in 2004, when the club was rebuilt as AC Monza Brianza 1912, and again in 2015, when it re-emerged as SSD Monza 1912 before settling back on the simpler AC Monza.

Home matches are played at the Stadio Brianteo, also known as the U-Power Stadium, which holds 18,568.
