Nantes Women

The Breton derby against Stade Rennais gives Nantes Women their sharpest fixture, sharpened further by SCO Angers across the Pays de la Loire, though neither has yet been decided by a trophy: the club has won nothing in Division 1 Arkema or the Coupe de France since its senior side entered the league in 2014, eight years after the women's project began in 2012.

Promotion arrived for 2024–2025, second place in Division 2 the season before earning a first taste of the top flight, and the team held its own, finishing seventh and reaching the semi-finals of both the Coupe de France and the Coupe de la Ligue. A year later they went further, finishing fourth in the Première Ligue and reaching the play-offs for the first time, before OL Lyonnes ended the run in the semi-final.

Mariam Toloba top-scored in that debut top-flight season and left for Paris FC in 2026; Lucie Calba took over as leading scorer the following year. Kelly Gago, capped by France, had already moved on to Everton in 2024. Julie Pasquereau captains the side that plays under the "Les Canaris" nickname shared with the men's club, in the same yellow and green.

On 12 October 2024, Nantes Women stepped out of Stade Marcel-Saupin, their usual, far smaller ground, and into the Stade de la Beaujoire for a match against Paris Saint-Germain. Just under 17,000 turned out, a record for the club and a reminder of how far the project had travelled since youth teams were first put together in the summer of 2012, before there was a senior team to put them in front of.
