Paris FC Women

The women's game in Juvisy-sur-Orge began as a section of Étoile Sportive de Juvisy, set up by the local club in 1971 at a time when women's football in France had no professional structure to speak of. Under the name FCF Juvisy Essonne it grew into the country's dominant side of its era, taking six league titles between 1991–92 and 2005–06 and a first Coupe de France in 2004–05. In 2017 the team merged with the men's Paris FC, trading a suburban identity for a place in the capital's football landscape and a new home at the Stade Sébastien Charléty, which holds just over 19,000 for a crowd that has grown well beyond what Juvisy ever needed.

Sandrine Soubeyrand embodies the link between the two eras: she captained the side through its Juvisy title-winning years and later returned as head coach, overseeing a second Coupe de France win in 2024–25, twenty years after the first. Gaëtane Thiney and Marinette Pichon belong to the same lineage, players who built the club's reputation long before Paris FC put its name above the door.

The Champions League run of 2012–13, when Juvisy reached the semi-finals, remains the club's high-water mark in Europe. Domestically, the rivalry that now defines the club sits across the city: Paris Saint-Germain Women, backed by far greater resources, meet Paris FC in the Derby de Paris, a fixture sharpened by the fact that both clubs lay claim to the same nickname, Les Parisiennes, and to being the authentic women's football voice of the capital.
