The women's side came into being that same year, on 29 June, starting out in the regional divisions rather than anywhere near Serie A.

What changed the picture was a purchase, not a promotion: in June 2022 the Krause Group bought the sporting title of Empoli Ladies and used it to place a Parma women's team directly into the top flight. For that first season the club played under the name Parma Calcio 2022, reverting to Parma Calcio 1913 the year after.

They play at the Stadio Ennio Tardini, the same ground as the men's team, in front of a capacity of 22,352. The nickname Le Crociate, the Crusaders, carries the club's yellow and blue. Sassuolo and Bologna are the fixtures that matter most, the Derby dell'Enza and the Derby dell'Emilia.
