SC Sand Women

Three times SC Sand reached the final of the DFB-Pokal der Frauen, and three times the same opponent stood in the way. Wolfsburg won the first final 2:1. Sand went back in 2017 and again in 2019, and lost to Wolfsburg both times. The club has never won a national trophy.

The run to that first final produced the result the club is still known for. In April 2016 Sand knocked out Bayern, who would go on to take the league title that season, winning 2:1 in the cup.

Sportclub Sand 1946 e.V. was founded on 11 August 1946; the women's section came thirty-four years later, in July 1980.

The team won the Verbandsliga in 1992 but lost the play-off for a Bundesliga place. Winning the regional league again in 1996 finally took them up, and they finished 6th in the southern group.

Home is the Adams Arena, at Kühnmatt 3 in Willstätt-Sand, which holds 2,300. The club plays in blue and white.
