The reserve side plays out of the Dietmar-Hopp-Stadion, the training ground inside the club's complex rather than the arena the men use, and it plays there under a ceiling written into the rules: second teams in Germany cannot be promoted to the 1. Frauen-Bundesliga.

That makes what happened between 2016 and 2018 unusual. Hoffenheim II won the southern group of the 2. The run followed the 2013/14 Frauen-Regionalliga Süd title.

The women's set-up at Hoffenheim dates to 2007, when the women's section of SG Hoffenheim/St. Leon was folded into TSG 1899 Hoffenheim after a season under the joint name.

The ground holds 6,350, with 3,000 of those seated. There are no derbies.
