Viktoria Berlin Women

Two Berlin clubs went into the merger of 1 July 2013: BFC Viktoria 1889, whose sky blue survived, and LFC Berlin, a Lichterfelde side dating from March 1892, which brought red into the new badge. What LFC also brought was a team that had just won the Regionalliga Nordost, and the merged women's side stepped straight into the 2. Bundesliga Nord for 2013/14. It finished 12th and went down.

The eight years that followed were spent in the third tier, with two runner-up finishes and a Berliner Pokal in 2018. Then came the change that made the club unusual in German women's football. In mid-2022 the women's team was carved out into its own GmbH, and 75.1% of it was bought by Sports Idols 22, a holding set up by six businesswomen — among them Ariane Hingst.

The stake grew to 81.7% in August 2024. By October 2025 the men's GmbH had left the shareholder register altogether, leaving Sports Idols 22 with 99% and the club itself with 1%. A month later the American investment platform Monarch Collective took roughly 39.2% of the holding company.

The football kept pace with the paperwork, more or less. Viktoria won the Berlin cup in 2021/22 and the Regionalliga Nordost in 2022/23, then took the title again in 2024/25. The Himmelblauen have played in the second division since.
