Rasmus Festersen scored more goals than anyone else in the club's professional years, and he was named the best player of the 2014–15 season. Between 2008 and 2015 the elite side ran as FC Vestsjælland, in blue and white.
What survived was older. Slagelse Boldklub was formed on 23 May 1887, playing cricket alongside football, and merged with Slagelse Idræts-Forening — an athletics club, founded 1907 — on 27 August 1919. The merged club kept the earlier date, which makes it the fifth-oldest football club in Denmark.
In 1943–44 the club finished second in its zone of the Danish championship and reached the quarter-final, where BK Frem beat them 11–1.
The Vikingerne play there still.
