Sonderjyske

The 2019–20 Danish Cup final gave Sønderjyske its first senior trophy: a 2–0 win over AaB. It came out of a 2004 merger that pulled together a Haderslev football side, an ice hockey club from Vojens and a women's football team under a single elite-sport company.

The football half of that merger was old. Haderslev FK dated to July 1906, and had already renamed itself HFK Sønderjylland at the start of 2001, three years before the merger folded it into something larger.

Promotion came almost immediately after the merger — the 1. That finish opened the door to Europe for the first time. In the 2016–17 Europa League qualifiers Sønderjyske got past Strømsgodset and Zagłębie Lubin, then drew 0–0 at home with Sparta Prague and lost 3–2 in the return. Nothing since has come close: the 2020–21 run ended 3–0 to Viktoria Plzeň in the third qualifying round.

Supporters point to Esbjerg fB as the fixture that matters most, with Horsens and AGF also raising the temperature.
