Estadio Nemesio Camacho El Campín

El Campín is currently a building site as much as a football ground. Since 2024 the consortium Sencia has been tearing down the old stands and raising a new complex due for completion in 2029, with capacity planned to settle between 45,000 and 50,000 — work carried out while touring acts keep filling the seats around the machinery.

The venue has never needed a second name the way many grounds do. Its nickname comes from the English word "camping" — the land was once used for exactly that, before Luis Camacho donated it in memory of his father, Nemesio, a former manager of the city's tram network.

Continental football has passed through more than once: the 1989 Copa Libertadores final, the 2015 Copa Sudamericana final won by Santa Fe, and the decider of the 2011 Under-20 World Cup were all played here. Off the pitch, the guest list runs from The Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney to Shakira and Maluma.

None of that has spared the surface from criticism. Colombia's players' union, Acolfutpro, has repeatedly called the pitch unsafe, pointing to the packed concert calendar and poor drainage — complaints that persisted even after a hybrid GrassMax surface, blending Kikuyo grass with synthetic fibre, replaced the old natural turf.
