Resistencia beat Tacuary 3-1 in the Dívición Intermedia regular season, round 17, on Saturday 1 August. The hosts kept their heads after a late red card and saw out the win at home.

E. Riveros opened the scoring just before half-time with a 45th-minute goal. It was a steady first half and by then the home side had shaped their approach, looking for that early edge.

J. M. Franco Almada doubled the lead after the break, striking in the 55th minute. To be fair, the visitors struggled to respond and the gap in chances became clear.

Resistencia added a third goal in the 89th minute, then the game turned. A red card fell to Tacuary in the 90+1 minute, leaving them a man short for the final moments.

The visitors pulled one back in the 90+5 minute, but the hosts had already done enough. And here's the thing — three or four moments decide a match, not the full ninety.
