About the player
Emerson Urso spent the following three years shuttling between clubs on loan almost every season, first with the under-20 sides of Vasco da Gama and Corinthians, then in senior football at Santo André, Audax Rio, Resende and Ituano.
That run of loans built enough of a reputation for Botafogo to sign him on a pre-contract in August 2023. His time in Rio de Janeiro was brief: five appearances and one goal in the 2024 Campeonato Carioca before the club and player mutually terminated the contract in December 2024, with Botafogo keeping a 20% stake in his economic rights.
By then Emerson was already settled elsewhere. He had joined Vila Nova on loan in April 2024 and made an immediate impact in Série B, playing 23 matches and scoring three goals for the Goiás club. The move was made permanent in January 2025.
He has not been called up by any Brazilian national team, from the youth ranks to the senior side, and his career to date has come without individual awards or titles. Before turning professional, he featured for both São Caetano and Corinthians' under-20 teams in the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior.
