Buxdu

Bukhara's football identity has never sat still. For decades the city's senior side traded names and cities as regional football was reshuffled — the old club, once known as Nurafshon, took silver in the Uzbek championship in 1994 and later reached the final of the Uzbekistan Cup, lost to Pakhtakor. Buxdu is not that club, and the distinction matters: it grew out of Bukhara State University, taking the field for the first time in 2024.

The team plays its home fixtures at the Buxoro FA ground, the training venue built for the region's football academy rather than a stadium raised for a senior club — a detail that says something about where Buxdu sits in the city's football order for now. Capacity is 1,000.

Little else about the club has settled into record yet: no honours, no fixed nickname, no rivalry with the weight of the old Ancient Cities derby against Samarkand's Dynamo that once defined football in this part of the Zeravshan valley. What is fixed is the shirt, worn in white and blue.
