Seattle went into the 2025 season still chasing the shadow of 2013, and came out the other end champions again: Super Bowl LX, a 29-13 win over New England, twelve years after the 43-8 demolition of Denver that gave the franchise its first title. Geno Smith ran the offence that got them there, a long way removed from the years the quarterback job carried Russell Wilson's name.

None of it was supposed to happen this fast. The Seahawks only existed because the NFL added Seattle as its 28th franchise, and the identity came out of a public vote. The colours changed too, in 2012, when the original blue and green gave way to College Navy and Action Green.

The defining stretch in between belonged to a defence, not an offence. Between 2011 and 2017, "the Legion of Boom" turned Seattle into the team nobody wanted to throw against. Steve Largent, Cortez Kennedy and Walter Jones carry the franchise's history in the Hall of Fame.

Lumen Field holds the noise that fans built a reputation on — "the 12s." Division rivalries with the Rams and the 49ers have supplied most of the games that mattered along the way.

Two Super Bowl banners now hang twelve years apart.
