Hørsholm-Usserød

Rasmus Højlund was already gone from Hørsholm Idrætspark by the time he turned eleven, off to bigger academies on the way to Manchester United and the Denmark shirt. The club, known locally as HUI, formed in 1962 when the town sides of Hørsholm and Usserød merged.

Home games are played at Hørsholm Idrætspark, which holds 5,000, only 300 of them seated. The shirt is white with black stripes. Neither a Danish championship nor a Danish Cup has ever gone to Hørsholm; the closest the club came was the third round of the Cup in the 2022/23 season, a 1-2 defeat to AC Horsens that still stands as its best run in the competition.

Alongside Højlund and his twin brothers, who went on to play for FC Copenhagen and clubs in the Bundesliga, HUI also produced Sofie Svava, a Denmark women's international who has played for Real Madrid and Lyon. In 2024 the Danish federation, DBU, awarded the club two stars for its youth development work, and for six years from 2009 HUI ran a joint senior project with neighbouring Nivå-Kokkedal under the name FC Øresund, reaching fourth place in the Denmark Series in 2011/12 before the arrangement was wound down.

The first team's own progress has been slower. Not until 2025, beating ASA Aarhus 4-1 in a promotion play-off, did Hørsholm-Usserød reach the 3rd Division, the fourth tier of Danish football, for the first time in the club's history.
