Brønshøj

Ebbe Skovdahl took charge of a Copenhagen side that had spent two decades bouncing between the top flight and the one below it, and in 1983/84 he steered Brønshøj Boldklub to fifth in the 1. division.

Two years earlier the club had won the Carlsberg Grand Prix, a competition set aside for teams outside the elite rather than the national cup proper. Brønshøj beat Hvidovre 3–0 in the final at Idrætsparken, with Per Gø, Kent Nielsen and Johnny Eliasen scoring.

The club grew out of local football on Brønshøj Torv, where Julian Suhr and the others who started it in 1919 played under the Nørrebro union before joining the Copenhagen association three years later. The merger that changed most came in 1973, when Tingbjerg Idrætsforening joined and Brønshøj found itself running the largest youth section in the city; the move to Tingbjerg Idrætspark followed a few years after.

The ground holds 3,000, only 600 of them seated.

Promotion out of the third tier in 1955/56 and the second-tier title in 1961 carried Brønshøj into the top division for the first time. It went down again in 1989 and has not been back. Then the fall kept going: defeat by 5–1 to Næstved in 2021 dropped the club into the Denmark Series, the fifth tier, ending an unbroken run in the national divisions that had begun in 1944/45. A win over Marienlyst in 2024 brought them back to the 3. division.

Fourteen seasons in the top flight, 32 in the second, 20 in the third.
