Inter Milan Women

The Derby della Madonnina still draws Inter's women away from home: for fixtures against AC Milan Women, the club has moved matches to San Siro.

There was no club to speak of before October 2018. Internazionale had fielded a men's side since 1908 without ever giving women a senior team of their own; the section was built instead on the sporting rights bought from A.S.D. Femminile Inter Milano, a Milan club that had itself only taken shape in 2009 out of an earlier merger and folded the year Inter absorbed it. The team that inherited that history spent its first season in Serie B and went straight back up, champions in 2018-19.

Most weeks the Nerazzurre play at the Arena Civica Gianni Brera, a ground that holds 10,000. Tabitha Chawinga has done most to make the shirt worth watching since; Francesca Durante has held the goal for the Italian core of the side. The academy has produced its own players too, Irene Santi and Chiara Robustellini among them, though the biggest prize has so far eluded the club: runners-up in Serie A in 2024-25, the title itself still unwon.

San Siro, when Inter's women fill even a fraction of it, seats 75,817.
