Ipswich Town Women

The nickname came ready-made, borrowed from the men's "Tractor Boys" and the same Suffolk farmland behind it, and the women's side grew up wearing the same blue rather than choosing an identity of its own. No date marks its first match; the earliest firm point is 1991, when the club appears among the founding members of the Women's Premier League.

For years the team had no fixed home, moving through grounds that included Kayte Lane before settling, in 2013, at Felixstowe & Walton United's Dellwood Avenue, a tight ground holding barely 2,000. Promotion to the Championship in April 2025 ended that twelve-season stay: the division's facility rules were beyond what Felixstowe could offer, and Ipswich signed a two-year deal to play at Colchester Community Stadium instead, a ground with room for over 10,000.

That promotion followed the Southern Premier Division title in 2024–25, the club's first route into the Championship, won in a season that also carried them to the FA Women's Cup quarter-finals as the lowest-ranked club left in the draw. Goalkeeper Natalia Negri took the division's Golden Glove along the way.

Norwich City remain the fixture that sharpens everyone's focus, the East Anglian derby carrying weight beyond league position, and in August 2024 Ipswich won it 4-0 at Carrow Road in front of nearly 5,000 spectators.
