Randers Cimbria

The Jysk Derby against Bakken Bears carries more weight for Randers Cimbria than the league table usually allows, and in the spring of 2025 it produced the club's first piece of major silverware: a 76–75 win over the Aarhus club in the Danish Cup final. A year later they beat Team FOG Næstved 101–98 after overtime.

The league title itself has never come. Runners-up finishes in 2013–14 and 2019–20, with bronze either side of them in 2008–09 and 2017–18, are as close as the club has got to the top of Basketligaen. That record sits against a period, in 2009, when the club went bankrupt and dropped to the third tier, rebuilding over three seasons before returning to the top flight in 2011–12.

Basketball at Randers Statsskole in 1951 gave the club its roots, and a closed student club followed in 1954 before the present-day set-up took shape through a 1973 merger. Chris Nielsen became the league's all-time leading scorer in a Randers Cimbria shirt, passing 8,000 points on his way into the Hall of Fame alongside Inge Nissen, an NCAA champion also honoured there.

Games are played in white and blue at Arena Randers, which holds 3,402 for basketball.
