US Ben Guerdane

The Stade de Ben Guerdane holds 6,500 people. It sits in the south of the country, close enough to ES Zarzis that fixtures between the two are known simply as the Derby du Sud.

US Ben Guerdane trace their founding to 1 March 1936. The breakthrough finally came in 2014–15, when the Ligue 2 title delivered their first-ever promotion to the top division.

Their sharpest moment in a one-off tie came outside the league altogether. In the 2006–07 Coupe de la Ligue amateur Promosport, they beat Espérance de Tunis on penalties in the semi-final, a result far outside what a fourth-tier side was expected to produce against one of the country's most decorated clubs. The best they have managed in the top flight itself came later, a third-place finish in 2020–21, which also carried them into the CAF Confederation Cup, where their run stopped in the first round.

Yellow and black remain the club's colours, worn by a side that has never quite settled at the top level long enough to be judged there, moving instead between Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 as circumstances demand. Staying in the top flight, rather than simply returning to it, is the task in front of them now.
