Unisport Bafang go into the season in Elite One, Cameroon's top flight, promoted alongside Aigle Royal de la Menoua. Fans in Bafang still greet the team with the cry "NTam Nkwae" — play until you die.
The club has one league title to its name, won in 1996, and added the Cameroon Cup in 2012 after beating New Stars Football Club in the final.
Stade Municipal, known locally by the fuller name Stade Municipal Ngadjui Kamga Gaston, holds 5,000. The yellow and red colours carry the nickname Flambeau de l'Ouest, the Torch of the West.
