Braian Ezequiel Romero

Braian Romero did not come through a big-club academy. He passed briefly through the youth ranks at Chacarita Juniors and Tigre before joining Acassuso, where he made his senior debut in the Primera B Metropolitana. From there the path ran through loans and steady moves upward: a loan at Colón, then a switch to Argentinos Juniors, where he helped the club win the Primera B Nacional and reach the top flight.

Independiente signed 80% of his rights in 2018. At Athletico Paranaense he won the Copa do Brasil and the Copa Sudamericana. The following season, on loan at Defensa y Justicia, he had his best campaign yet, winning the Copa Sudamericana again and finishing as the competition's top scorer with ten goals, a run that also earned him a place in the tournament's Ideal Team.

A move to River Plate followed in 2021, where he added the Primera División title, the Recopa Sudamericana and the Trofeo de Campeones to his collection. He then crossed to Brazil with Internacional, with a loan spell at Tijuana in between, before returning to Argentina permanently in July 2023 to sign for Vélez Sarsfield. At Vélez he has kept winning: the Supercopa Internacional, the Supercopa Argentina and the Primera División, all in 2024.

Despite that run of trophies across three countries, Romero has never been capped by the Argentina senior national team — his medals have all come at club level.
