Renzo Garcés

Renzo Garcés came up through the Universidad San Martín de Porres academy after starting out at ADU de Ucayali and Mariscal Castilla in his native Pucallpa, and he was still with USMP when he finished runner-up in the Torneo del Inca in 2014. He made his senior debut that year and went on to 52 league appearances for the club before a 2017 move to Sporting Cristal, where he was part of the squad that won the Torneo Descentralizado in 2018.

A loan to Universidad César Vallejo in January 2019 was a temporary move. What was meant to be a season-long move became permanent in 2021, and Garcés stayed until 2023, racking up 128 league appearances and appearing in both the Copa Sudamericana and Copa Libertadores along the way. He joined Alianza Lima as a free agent in December 2023 on a deal running to the end of 2025, later extended to December 2028, and has featured in continental competition in both 2024 and 2025.

Garcés made his senior international debut for Peru in a friendly draw with Panama in January 2022, having already come through the U17, U20, U22 and U23 sides. His first goal for the national team arrived far more recently, against Haiti in a friendly in Miami, taking his tally to 15 caps.
