About the player
Wallace Gomes da Silva Santos began at Cabofriense's youth ranks before joining CRB in 2022. He made his senior debut for the club in 2023 and went on to win three consecutive Campeonato Alagoano titles, in 2024, 2025 and 2026, adding the Campeonato Alagoano Sub-20 crown in 2024 along the way.
His move to Grêmio in June 2026 carried a detail that stood out even before he had kicked a ball for the club: the fee, in which Grêmio paid R$ 3 million for half of his economic rights while CRB kept the other half, was reported as the largest sum ever received for a player who came through CRB's academy. Wallace signed a five-year contract with Grêmio.
He picked shirt number 82 for reasons that had nothing to do with tactics or superstition — it marks the year his mother was born, a small personal touch on a jersey otherwise built around defensive duties. Since arriving at Grêmio, Wallace has made around sixteen appearances and scored once. He is yet to receive a call-up to the Brazilian national team.
