«Engineers»
Ten times German university champions is not something many clubs in Karlsruhe can claim, and the Engineers hold the record outright, taking the title in 1996 and 1999 before a run of eight more between 2009 and 2018. It grew out of a student side put together in 1990 for the universities of Karlsruhe. That changed in August 2013, when the club was folded into the KIT Sport Club and renamed KIT SC Engineers, opening its doors beyond the student body for the first time.
Falco Böllhoff , who took over as head coach that year from Felix Bleimund, carried the team through to promotion into the Regionalliga off the back of it. The club reached the top of that tier as well, winning the Regionalliga Südwest in 2025.
Between 2009 and 2013 the club ran a cooperation with the Badener Greifs.
