Liga Nova KBM (Slovenia) 2026/27

Liga Nova KBM is the sponsored name for the 1. A moška slovenska košarkarska liga (1. SKL), the top-tier professional basketball league in Slovenia. Founded in 1991 by the Basketball Federation of Slovenia (KZS) following independence from Yugoslavia, the league sits at the apex of the Slovenian basketball pyramid.

The competition is distinct because it is the sole domestic national league, whereas the ABA League is a parallel regional competition involving clubs from former Yugoslav republics, organized by a private entity rather than the national federation. The season format involves a regular season where teams play a round-robin schedule, typically three rounds against each opponent. This is followed by playoffs. The top teams advance to quarterfinals and semifinals played as best-of-three series, while the finals are best-of-five. Relegation applies to the bottom-placed team, which drops to the 2. SKL. There is no formal promotion from the 1. SKL to the regional ABA League.

The most successful club is Cedevita Olimpija, including the legacy of KK Union Olimpija, with 23 titles. The current champion is Cedevita Olimpija. The league has undergone frequent sponsorship name changes, such as Liga Kolinska, HYPO Liga, and Liga Telemach. The current name is Liga OTP banka for the 2024–present period.
