FBU Superleague (Ukraine) 2026/27

The FBU SuperLeague stands as the premier professional men’s basketball competition in Ukraine. Organized by the Basketball Federation of Ukraine (FBU), it occupies the top tier of the national pyramid, sitting above the Ukrainian Higher League. The league was established in 1992, launching its inaugural season in 1992–93 following the country's independence. While the number of participants fluctuates, the competition currently features ten clubs, including BC Dnipro, BC Kyiv Basket, BK Zaporozhye, Cherkaski Mavpy, Goverla, and Kharkivski Sokoly.

Competition structure follows a traditional model. Teams play a regular season in a home-and-away round-robin system. The top teams advance to playoffs comprising quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals. These series utilise best-of formats, such as best-of-three or best-of-five, rather than two-legged ties. Promotion and relegation operate between the SuperLeague and the second tier, though relegation specifics remain fluid due to the league's consistent size.

BC Budivelnyk holds the record for success in the tournament, having claimed eleven titles. In recent years, BC Dnipro has secured back-to-back championships, winning the 2023–24 and 2024–25 seasons. The league has experienced significant turbulence in its history, including a split in 2008–09 that created a parallel Ukrainian Basketball League and a governance conflict in 2015–16 involving club associations. The 2021–22 campaign was suspended entirely due to the Russian invasion. Commercial partnerships have included sponsors such as Windrose and Favbet.

Unlike regional competitions that draw international sides, the FBU SuperLeague remains a domestic entity. It maintains a closed promotion system distinct from neighbouring structures like the VTB United League. The competition’s digital presence is managed through the official federation website, fbu.ua.
