FIBA Women's AmeriCup 2025/26

FIBA Women's AmeriCup is the premier continental championship for national teams in the Americas. Organised by FIBA, the tournament was founded in 1989 and was originally known as the FIBA Americas Championship for Women before being renamed in 2017. It is held biennially and serves as the primary qualification pathway for the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup and the Olympic Games.

The tournament does not feature promotion or relegation. Participation is determined through regional qualifiers, including the Centrobasket for Central America and the Caribbean, and the South American Women's Basketball Championship for South America. Automatic berths are granted for top-ranked nations like the USA and Canada alongside the host nation. In its current format, ten teams compete in two groups of five, with the top four from each group advancing to a knockout stage comprising quarterfinals, semifinals, and medal games.

Brazil holds the record for the most titles with six wins, followed by the United States and Cuba with five each. The United States is the current champion, having defeated Brazil 92–84 in the 2025 final held in Chile. The competition is distinct from global events like the World Cup and Olympics in that it is a regional championship, though it functions as a critical qualifier for those global stages.

Notable records include a 60-point margin of victory in multiple games, such as Canada's 101–41 win over the U.S. Virgin Islands in 2021. The event brings together teams from across the continent, including Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic, to compete for the title of the Americas' best national side.
