Byron Scott's Rape Case Paused by Bankruptcy Filing
Accuser Haylie Dylan's lawyers call ex-NBA champion Scott's bankruptcy filing "cowardly," seeking to continue hearings over a 1987 rape allegation.
Lawyers for the accuser, Haylie Dylan, are seeking permission to continue the hearings despite the bankruptcy filing.
"Cowardly and pathetic," the lawyers said of Scott's decision to file. If they fail to win permission to proceed, Dylan will instead have to pursue compensation through the bankruptcy court.
In his filing, Scott listed his assets at $50,000, against potential liability for damages of between $1m and $10m.
