Raduljica questions Antetokounmpo's basketball talent
Former Bucks teammate Miroslav Raduljica says Giannis Antetokounmpo's game was built through hard work rather than natural talent, criticizing his lack of a jump shot.
Miroslav Raduljica, who played alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo at the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2013/14 season, has questioned how the Bucks star's game developed, and how much of it counts as basketball at all.
"Giannis had a tough work ethic, and he listened to absolutely everything he was told. They can turn almost anyone into whoever they want. And they turn out to be right 99% of the time. If they have a plan to develop someone into a player, they will do it. I don't think Giannis is some extraordinary basketball talent. But he knows how to grind, which is actually even more important. You need to have the ability to work hard, listen to what you're told, and let them turn you into a beast. I bring up Giannis because I know him personally, but the same applies to other players too. The NBA and this whole style — man, I can't watch it. For me, that's not basketball. You just charge at the rim, build yourself up into a machine and jump over people, but you can't hit a three-pointer. You don't have a jump shot or even a single pump fake. You've got the eurostep, but even with that you're still jumping over someone as if you're on stilts," the former centre said.
Raduljica and Antetokounmpo shared the Bucks' roster in 2013/14, the debut NBA season for both. The Serbian centre later had a brief spell in China, signed a short-term deal with Minnesota, and then moved on to Greece.
