Donatas Motiejūnas is closing in on a move to PAOK. The 36-year-old Lithuanian centre is expected to sign a deal covering the rest of the 2026/27 season, fully guaranteed.
Motiejūnas spent last season at Crvena Zvezda, joining on loan from Monaco. That arrangement was initially set for three months, but the two clubs agreed in December to extend it through to the end of the campaign. Across 27 EuroLeague matches he averaged 6.1 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 12.6 minutes. In the Adriatic League he put up 8.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists across 18 games.
His parent club has had no season to speak of. Monaco's bid for a place in France's third division was rejected over financial guarantees, an appeal against that decision was thrown out by the country's Olympic and Sport Committee, and the club was left with only the amateur fifth division to preserve any competitive status. Monaco have since written to the Adriatic League asking for an urgent answer on a place in its second division. Motiejūnas leaving for PAOK on a permanent-look deal would mark one more departure from a squad with, for now, nowhere to play.
