Rodrigo Castillo

Rodrigo Castillo took his first steps in the game at Sportivo Rivadavia before River Plate's youth system took him on in 2018. He never made a first-team appearance there, playing 12 reserve matches and scoring once before leaving without a professional contract, though River kept a 30% sell-on clause. A short spell at Unión de Santa Fe in 2020 brought no senior football either.

His path turned at Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, which he joined on loan in 2021 before signing permanently. A loan to Deportivo Madryn in the Primera Nacional the following year proved decisive: he scored the winning goal on his debut and finished with 12 goals in 36 appearances. He returned to Gimnasia as a first-team regular in the Primera División, renewing his contract twice, in March 2023 and September 2024.

Castillo left for Lanús in July 2025, with Gimnasia retaining 80% of his economic rights. The move paid off immediately: he scored 14 goals in 32 appearances and was central to Lanús's Copa Sudamericana triumph, scoring all three goals in the semi-final against Universidad de Chile. He was named to the Team of the Tournament and went on to lift the Recopa Sudamericana with the club the following year.

Fluminense signed him from Lanús on 3 March 2026 on a five-year contract, a deal reported in the region of $8–10 million. He has not yet represented Argentina at international level.
