Victor Hugo

Victor Hugo came through Flamengo's academy after starting out in futsal. He made his senior debut in May 2022 and, over the following seasons, collected a run of major honours with Flamengo: the Copa Libertadores, two editions of the Copa do Brasil, the Campeonato Carioca and the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. They mark him as a player who was around a winning dressing room from an early age.

His development since has followed a more circuitous route. Flamengo sent him on loan to Turkish side Göztepe as part of a deal involving Carlos Alcaraz, and after a brief return to Rio de Janeiro — a single appearance last August — he was loaned out again, this time to Santos. That spell was cut short in January 2026 when Atlético Mineiro moved to sign him outright, taking a 50% stake in his economic rights from Flamengo for a reported US$2.5 million and tying him to a contract running to December 2030.

At youth level, Victor Hugo has represented Brazil at under-15, under-17 and under-20 level, including a Campeonato Brasileiro Sub-17 title.
