Evora Women

Évora, in the Alentejo, has a women's basketball team in the Portuguese top flight for 2026/27, and it plays from a school hall. The Pavilhão EB23 André Resende stands on Rua Cosme Delgado, inside the Escola Básica André de Resende, and the club shares the school's name. In the city it is simply "André de Resende".

The club goes back to 1993 and began as part of the basketball section at Salesianos Évora. The coaches Jorge Malarranha and Antonino Camponês were at that first training session. The women's side is younger than the club itself: it was relaunched for the 2011-12 season. The team that went up in 2026 therefore comes from a restart made fifteen years earlier, not from an unbroken line.

Salesianos Évora Basquetebol, where it all started, still exists as a separate club in the same city.
