Coaching has mattered more here than silverware. Amir Druker, who first pulled on the shirt himself and stayed with the club for roughly three decades as a player, has run it since 1995 as professional manager and chairman of the Ono Handball-Sport association. Gilaad Maur arrived in 2019. Between them, imported players such as Lazar Adamović and Dusan Sipka have filled the roster in seasons when Kiryat Ono needed to hold its ground in the Premier League rather than chase it.
It was there, and under Yoram Yisraeli and Amir Druker themselves, that the whole project began in 1975.
