Les Sables Vendée

François Sence took over as head coach for the 2024–2025 season, succeeding Denis Mettay, with LSVB established in Nationale Masculine 1, the third tier of French basketball.

The rise came under the name Les Sables Vendée Basket, adopted in July 2020 at the moment of promotion; before that, from its founding in 2006, the club was known as Pays des Olonnes Basket. The 2019–2020 season brought the National 2 title, the result that pushed it up to NM1. Arnaud Imhoff, the point guard who ran the team through that campaign, was central to getting it there.

Since 2020–2021, home games against Vendée Challans Basket have carried the weight of a derby, the two Vendée clubs meeting in the same division for the first time that season. In the Coupe de France, LSVB has gone no further than the second round, reached in 2020–2021.

Grégory Lessort spent time at the club from 2018 before moving on to Metz BC, and Frédéric Loubaki, capped by the DR Congo national team, has worn the shirt as well. Guillaume Pons ran the club as head coach and general manager through the years of the promotion push, from 2017 to 2021, and returned briefly for a second spell in 2022–2023.

Behind the first team, the FFBB-labelled youth school carries around 400 licensed players and runs summer camps each year. Games are played at the Arena Stadium, which holds 2,000 for basketball.
