Quimper

Finistère basketball has a set of neighbours it does not particularly like: Étendard de Brest across the county line, and Aurore Vitré Basket Bretagne. Neither rivalry rests on a trophy shelf. UJAP grew out of a 1984 merger of two Quimper associations, Jeanne d'Arc and Phalange d'Arvor, and spent decades under that acronym before rebranding in June 2020 as Béliers de Kemper.

The club's history reads as a series of near-misses and near-collapses. Nationale 1 in 2004 sent it up to Pro B, where it reached the final three years later and lost to JA Vichy. A relegation slide between 2012 and 2015 took it down to Nationale 2 before a reprieve put it back in NM1, and in 2017 it won that division's playoffs to return to Pro B. The pandemic years brought fresh strain: relegation and falling revenue forced the creation of a holding company, Kemper Béliers Développement, and a capital increase just to keep the budget upright.

That fragility makes the move into Kostum Park – À nous la vie, in October 2025, a bigger event than a change of address. The new arena seats 3,499 and cost some €32 million.

None of it has yet produced a French title. The closest the Béliers came to silverware beyond 2004 was a losing Leaders Cup Pro B final in 2021. What keeps supporters occupied in the meantime is still the trip to Brest, or the long drive to Vitré, more than any run at Pro A.
