Levallois

Victor Wembanyama was taken with the first pick of the 2023 draft and Boris Diaw, once a Metropolitans player himself, moved into the president's chair. Bilal Coulibaly, taken seventh that same year, was part of the club.

The club traces back further than either of them. Levallois Sporting Club Basket, founded in Levallois-Perret in 1941, merged with Paris Basket Racing on 9 June 2007 to form what became Metropolitans 92, and the new entity inherited the honours of both predecessors: French championships won as Racing Club de France in 1951, 1953 and 1954, another as Paris Basket Racing in 1997, and the French Cup in 2013 under the name Paris-Levallois. A Match des Champions followed in 2014.

None of that saved the club in May 2024, when the Metropolitans 92 entity went bankrupt and was dropped to NM1, the third tier. A new structure, Metropolitans Basketball Club, took its place for the 2024-25 season.

The derby that still matters sits across the Hauts-de-Seine, against Nanterre 92. Locals call it the Derby francilien.
