St. Chamond

Down 22 points against Chorale de Roanne in 2017, Saint-Chamond found a way back to 87–80, a result still talked about at the club as the miracle in the Derby de la Loire. Roanne answered two years later, taking its first derby win, 83–76, in 2019.

The club traces its origins to a 1973 merger of la Saint-Chamonaise and Saint-Martin-en-Coailleux, presided over by Andrée Jeantet, and spent decades working through the amateur ranks before the Zannier group's backing in 1999 more than doubled the operating budget. Serge Richier held the presidency from 1982 to 2011, a stretch of continuity that carried the club toward professional status: the NM1 title in 2015 brought promotion to Pro B. Much of that rise is credited to Alain Thinet, a former Pro A and Pro B player who coached the side from 2010 to 2023 and took it to Pro B semi-finals in 2017–18 and 2018–19 before a runners-up finish behind Orléans in the 2021–22 playoffs, the best result in the club's history.

In September 2022 the team left the Halle André Boulloche, which held around 1,200, for the Arena Saint-Étienne Métropole, with room for 4,200 in the club's red and white. Players such as Mathieu Guichard and Jonathan Hoyaux, both signed in 2016 or earlier, stayed through to 2025. A training centre accredited by the French Basketball Federation continues to develop players aged 15 to 21 under Romain Paour.

In April 2024 Saint-Chamond merged with Andrézieux-Bouthéon Loire Sud Basket to form Saint-Chamond Andrézieux-Bouthéon Basket, under president David Despinasse.
