Saint Vallier

SVBD did not emerge from a founding meeting so much as a merger: Jeanne d'Arc de Saint-Vallier, a club dating to 1929 that had started life as Étoile sportive Saint-Vallier, joined forces with Gymnase de Saint-Vallier, founded in 1947, and the combined entity took the name Saint-Vallier Basket Drôme in 1993.

The two promotions to Pro B came via Nationale 1 titles won in 2006–07 and 2020–21, each followed within a few years by relegation back down. In the Coupe de France, the club's best runs ended at the eighth-finals stage, in 2011–12 and again in 2017–18, when ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne put them out. There is no fixed local derby, though matches against US Aubenas Basket, also from the Drôme-Ardèche area, have carried the label "derby de Nationale 1" when the two have met in the same division, and La Charité Basket became the club's sharpest rival during the fight for playoff places in 2017–18. In 2024, Saint-Vallier reached the NM1 playoff final and lost it to Caen Basket Calvados, staying in the third tier.

Malick Badiane spent the 2007–08 season at the club between stints in the American game: a Senegalese international centre taken by the Houston Rockets in the second round of the 2003 NBA draft, and a silver medallist with Senegal at the 2005 AfroBasket.
